The history of the Mighty Hack Movies empire!

Hack Movies is the micro budget horror-comedy brainchild of the demented mind of one Kevin Strange. Hack was concieved in 2005, and released it's first feature film as an official production company in 2006, DREAM REAPER. After much promotion and touring at midwestern Horror Conventions and film festivals, the buzz surrounding Kevin Strange and Hack Movies only grew.

In early 2007 Hack Movies released it's second film, DEAD SHIT, to generally positive reviews. The mythology of Hack was begining to take shape. DEAD SHIT is the first film to mention Strangeville, the odd little town in Illinios in which all the insane films in the Hack Cannon take place. With the release of DEAD SHIT, Strange kicked the hyperbole into high gear. With the help of his loyal crew piece, Strange infultrated the internets, sending his message of sex, drugs, and foul mouths far and wide, garnering an impressive 25,000 myspace fans back when that was a big deal. Hack Movies also debuted their first ever live show, the Hack Movies Cinema Showgasm. A live music/film screening hybrid.

As 2007 turned into 2008, Strange released Hack Movies' 3rd feature film, COLONEL KILL MOTHERFUCKERS. This release was a HUGE step forward in production and storytelling as Strange really began to find his legs as a writer/director. Some fans contend that KILL is still one of the strongest films in the Hack Library. The KILL era also began the "Convention bombing" technique still employed by Hack from time to time when promoting a new film. The crew would pick a single day of a horror convention, show up in full makeup and costume and hand out hundreds of free teaser DVDs, stickers, flyers etc. in just a few short hours, then bounce back from whence they came. This method proved very effective at creating even more of a buzz for Hack Movies, a company that was basically shooting and releasing backyard horror movies.

Continuing their frennic pace, Hack Movies toured 2008 relentlessly, hitting such conventions at Horror Hound Weekend in Indianapolis not once but twice! The Fright Night Film Fest, Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors, Archon, Monstrous Weekend and more. But 2008 was no match for 2009 as Hack Movies released it's 4th feature film in Febrary, STIFF JOBS. The stiff jobs era marked a disturbing trend. As the content of the films became more extreme, websites such as youtube began to ban the Hack Movies trailers and promotional videos.

This could not stop Mayor Strange or his merry band of miscreants, not hardly! Strange went right to work on his 5th feature, COCKHAMMER in mid 2009, releasing it through Hackmovies.com in July, while sidestepping the youtube problem altogether by partnering with Fangoria.com to exclusively host the film's trailer! This was not the end of the freshness in the Cockhammer era though, as Tempe video inked a deal with Strange to officially release the film on their distribution label!

2009 continued to be an extremely busy year for Hack Movies as the crew toured shows like Fangoria's weekend of Horrors, Fright Night Film fest, the Scare Fest and Chicago's Flashback Weekend in addition to another Hack Movies Cinema Showgasm and a trip to the 10th annual Gathering of the Juggalos! 2009 wrapped up with production on the sixth (SIXTH!) feature film from Hack Movies since 2006, NIXON AND HOGAN SMOKE CHRISTMAS, a holiday movie set to be released in early 2010.

2010 looks strong as fuck for Hack Movies. CockHammer's distribution looks to have opened many doors for future films to be released through legitimate distribution avenues. Films slated for production as of January 2010 include the much anticipated IT CAME FROM MY PANTS, THE DEVIL'S BUTTCRACK, VAMP CAMP, and STRANGE TIMES AT STRANGEVILLE HIGH. Stay tuned, minions. The history of Hack Movies grows daily! Keep it Strange minions, Keep it Hack Movies!
